A New World Record is an LP by Electric Light Orchestra. It was released in 1976 (see 1976 in music).The album is notable for the hit singles "Telephone Line", "Livin' Thing" and "Do Ya", as well as a general lack of softer ballad-like songs ("Telephone Line" and "Mission" are the only ones). The focus is more on shorter pop songs, a trend which would continue through the rest of ELO's career.
